Celebrating Pride Month - ÐÔÊÀ½ç´«Ã½

ÐÔÊÀ½ç´«Ã½

As part of Pride Month, ÐÔÊÀ½ç´«Ã½ held a dedicated event to celebrate diversity and inclusivity within the college and wider community. This memorable, inclusive celebration was organised by the Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) team for everyone in the college community.

The range of guests was evidence of a much needed community moment. Babies, Pre-Prep/Prep pupils and puppies were in attendance, plus Senior/Sixth Form day and boarding students. This first ÐÔÊÀ½ç´«Ã½ Pride was fuelled with an amazing energy of happiness, love a sense of fun.

Bentley Motors bring Flying Spur

The college welcomed Bentley Motors and its unique Flying Spur model, designed to promote diversity and inclusion within the company. Parked in front of the ÐÔÊÀ½ç´«Ã½ Pride sign, the car proved a source of intrigue. Former student and Bentley’s current Director of Communications, Wayne Bruce, was also welcomed. Wayne provided an insightful opinion on the D&I progress that is still needed – in schools and the wider world. ÐÔÊÀ½ç´«Ã½ was grateful for the valued contribution and support from Bentley and Wayne. ÐÔÊÀ½ç´«Ã½ Pride celebrated the LGBTQ+ community at the college but most of all, it celebrated the togetherness of the school. With mocktails, food, live music and dancing, this event more than made up for the loss of Brighton Pride. It weaved together the colours of the rainbow, glitter and what it means to be a part of the ÐÔÊÀ½ç´«Ã½ community. Ìý

The event raised £726 which has been donated to charities Ìýand , both linked to the LGBTQ+ community.

ÐÔÊÀ½ç´«Ã½ Pride was an incredible end to what has been a challenging year, and we hope it will become an annual event Jami Edwards- Clarke, Director of Diversity and Inclusion
