On a bright Tuesday morning, Year 2 students embarked on an adventurous field trip to the i360 and Devil’s Dyke in Brighton, where they enjoyed an educational experience filled with excitement and discovery.

The children eagerly boarded the Brighton i360 viewing pod, ascending to an impressive height of 450 feet. From this vantage point, they were thrilled to spot iconic city landmarks, deepening their understanding of the geography in the local area. As they soared above the landscape, the pupils applied their geographical knowledge to distinguish between human-made and natural features. They practiced their directional and locational skills, using compass points to orient themselves while gazing out across the sprawling city and the shimmering waters of the English Channel.

Following their visit to the the students made their way to the top of Devil’s Dyke, where they engaged in a comparative study of geographical features. Here, they contrasted the vibrant cityscape they had just observed with the serene beauty of the surrounding countryside. This hands-on experience not only enriched their geographical knowledge but also sparked a deeper appreciation for the diverse landscapes of Brighton.
